Successfully completing this side quest requires players to explore specific areas surrounding the lake and properly secure a massive target.

Finding the Merchant Request Note

Before you can claim the rewards for this particular side mission, you must locate the blue request flyer posted in the game world. Players can officially find this note during Chapter 4 after obtaining the proper keys to explore the open waters. Navigate your boat toward the Lakeside Settlement area located on the northern shore of the lake map.

Unlock the iron gate using your insignia key and move into the small alleyway positioned directly behind the settlement's main house. The bright blue document is attached to the wooden structure near the back exit of this area. Reading the request reveals that the Merchant wants you to capture a legendary creature known as the Lunker Bass.

Locating the Lunker Bass in the Lake

Once you have accepted the challenge, return to your motorized boat and navigate out into the open waters of the lake. The target creature does not spawn randomly across the entire map, but rather nests in a very specific fishing zone. Steer your vessel toward the eastern docks near the Boat House where you originally fought Del Lago.

Scan the surface of the water carefully just north of the boat house docks to spot the swimming target. The massive creature is easily distinguishable from normal fish due to its sheer scale and darker coloration. It will occasionally break the surface, allowing you to pinpoint its exact location even from a moderate distance.

How to Capture and Deliver the Prey

To successfully capture the giant creature, you must rely entirely on the infinite supply of harpoons available while driving your boat. Aim carefully and throw a harpoon directly at the swimming shadow to defeat it instantly. Once the target is floating on the surface, drive your boat close to it and press the interact prompt to pick it up.

The large item takes up a significant amount of horizontal grid space inside your active attache case inventory management screen. Make sure to organize your weaponry and items beforehand so you have enough room to carry the catch securely. If your inventory is completely full, you might need to discard minor items or consume health sprays to free up space.

Claiming Your Rewards from the Merchant

With the giant creature safely tucked away in your inventory, sail back to the nearest merchant hideout to finalize the transaction. You can quickly visit the merchant setup located at the central lake tunnels or the primary underground cave system. Open the standard shop interface and navigate directly to the sell menu to proceed.

Sell the fresh catch to the shopkeeper just like any other standard treasure item to automatically trigger the mission completion trigger. The vendor will compensate you with a generous amount of regular currency alongside the bonus resources. You will immediately receive four Spinels which can be traded for exclusive weapon upgrades or helpful crafting recipes.
